The United States Census Bureau reported Monday that the number of vacant homes for sale in the United States is at new record highs.  The report stated that 2.9 percent or 2.28 million homes in the US are now vacant and for sale.  This is the highest quarterly number since 1956 when the Census Bureau first started keeping records of vacancies.  The West has the highest number of vacancies with a rise of almost 5 percent from the previous year.  While vacancy rates inched up in the Northeast, they have remained steady in the South and Midwest .

Oklahoma is one of the states that has remained steady, making it a great place to buy a new home at a great price.  The Federal Reserve is expected to cut key interest rates by a quarter-point, which gives you more home for your money.
